a brand new label, these photos of the first ever kahlo line come courtesy of desordre. simple yet poignant these pieces utilize the common construction of things like vests, maxi dresses, shorts, crop tops, etc. but give each piece a unique twist with qualities such as cut outs, multiple straps, and the creative use of fabrics such as leather, suede, etc. i also love that the color palette is simple neutral colors with a couple statement colors thrown in. what all this bullshit really means when you break it down is that i am in luuurrrvveee xo. i want it all. the line will be out in august so until then lets just all drool in anticipation.

as of late (and by late i mean the last couple months or so) i have noticed a spreading epidemic by the way of colorful, cute, pastry items. yes, i'm talking about macaroons. while innocent-looking enough these light baked cake-like sweets have proliferated blogs everywhere and in turn, have left us with a bunch of posts sounding like the following...

"warm sunlight on a lazy sunday and a spectrum of beautifully vibrant macaroons. so good i had to take a photo." a photo? MORE LIKE 550. i understand that bloggers are creative people, and while macaroons are far less offensive then perez hilton drawing jizz on a celebrities face, THEY ARE STARTING TO PISS ME OFF. yes, everyone has lazy/ brain fart days where the content is just not there, but that is no reason to turn to sweets.

the fact that everywhere i go, on every blog (fashion blogs are not exempt) there is some fucking post about how beautiful macaroons are makes me hate them. ARE ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY EATING THEM? is the macaroon obsession having to do with the fact that most fashion conscious people are also food/ sugar deprived and are living out their fat girl dreams via food porn (i can assure you this is not the case with me. as you can see i don't post about food mostly because i am preoccupied eating it).

while this blog post has nothing to do with anything, and while it might very well go down as one of the stupidest rant-y things i have ever written, let is also go down as my plea to bloggers to stop making macaroons out to the be spirit hoods of blogging. we get it, its the total hipster sweet and everyone wants to post their canon rebel impression of it.

almost spazzed/ peed my pants upon seeing the new eleven objects collars. if you are not familiar with eleven objects that is probably because the fall/winter 2011 line is their first. created by linh thi do (whose fashion cred comes from experience as product development person @ alexander wang) and christine rhee (who is known for her line CRHEE), the two women decided to offer products that would elevate the typical wardrobe through a new and different kind of accessory. from this eleven objects was born and has now spawned these godly items of which i want to own and wear every single one. the thing i love most about them is the instant flare and class they can give a simple outfit. if you are like me - good at pointing out fashionable things but often too lazy to seek and wear the good stuff - this makes life easy.

prices for the collars range from $135 and up. my instantaneous favorites are four shown below and i am also a big fan of the careful selection of the appropriate model to showcase any line (big points for this charlotte kemp muhl look-a-like as you know she is one of my all time fave models/ girls crush's). while this line is too new to predict their future or success i am happy to say that they have already made a fan of this fashion blogger. i'm hooked and can't wait to see what they come out with for following lines. shop here and follow on twitter here.

while technically i guess this blog can fall under the category of a fashion blog, i have always seen it as more of a verbal and visual manifestation of my inner monologue/ thoughts/ wants/ needs. with that said, it does not feel right to just continue posting as usual without addressing the horrible horrible tragedy that has happened in japan. there are really no words that can describe how sad this whole thing has been and how much i feel for the japanese people. with that said, while i am sure you have seen the coverage everywhere and don't need my input on the situation, i will merely suggest to all readers to find out what they can do help. as a first step i suggest donating to the red cross.

i also suggest (to those who have not already done so) to read fashion blogger rumi neely's take on the incident on her blog fashiontoast. while you may not be japanese (i'm not) and while this might not be directly affecting you, in the end this affects all of us. someday that might be us.

much funkier than the jason wu collection, but nonetheless coveted by cash moni, the dkny f/w 2011/2012 collection makes me happy with its paneled pants, good use of stripes and splashes of bright color, and general overall loosey goosey shapelessness. it is very LA minus about 20 degrees (at any given time). also, i am rather fond of the eyeliner about an inch above the actual eye. the whole crease-liner is a good look for runway purposes. photos via style.com
